SALT AND SAGE
She didn't come to Thistleborough looking for answers.
But something is waiting for her all the same.
Sylvie Cargill is broke, untethered and trying very hard not to fall apart. When she inherits a crumbling Victorian house from a great-aunt she's never met, in a riverside town she's never heard of, she plans to pack it up, sell it off, and start over.
But the house has other ideas.
Shadows stir at the windows. Whispers gather at the gate. And hidden deep in the walls is a legacy long forgotten-one that has been waiting for her.
As summer deepens, Sylvie finds herself pulled into the town and its strange magnetic inhabitants. As they whisper around her, she begins to feel it, the history she never meant to claim.
Love blooms. So does danger. And when the moon turns red, Sylvie must choose what she's willing to sacrifice to protect the people and the power she's only just begun to understand.
MEET RO
Ro Maxwell writes from the beaches of Sydney, where he lives with his boyfriend. Born in England and raised in Australia, he likes writing about people—what they carry, what they leave behind, and what they find when they’re not looking.
Salt and Sage is his debut novel—the one that lived in his head long before it made it to the page.
He lives for music, good books, the ocean, and long hours with the people he loves. A Taurus sun with a soft spot for ritual and rhythm, Ro is habitually burning incense, playing cards, or rewatching the same movies.
He only charges his crystals in the moonlight when he remembers.
Kiln Press is his independent print house. Earth-fed. Fire-forged. This is their first offering.
